Las <em>Canciones marianas (Pie\u015bni Maryjne)<\/em>, op. 54, de Henryk G\u00f3recki, presentan cinco movimientos a cappella compuestos de oraciones musicales a diferentes aspectos de la Virgen Mar\u00eda, patrona de Polonia. Gorecki incorpora el folclore polaco y la m\u00fasica sacra a un estilo precioso, fluido y aparentemente simplista, moldeado con elementos modernistas. <em>La Pasi\u00f3n y Resurrecci\u00f3n<\/em> del compositor let\u00f3n \u0112riks E\u0161envalds utiliza textos extra\u00eddos de la liturgia cat\u00f3lica, protestante y bizantina que cobran vida a trav\u00e9s de una m\u00fasica poderosamente emotiva.
