Young Artists Debut

Could the young artist in your life take the stage on April 24, 2026? They could if they apply to be Young Artists Debut! (YAD!) Winners by January 16, 2026! Cognizart + Orchestra Nova Northwest is seeking young performing artists, ensembles, and visual artists ages 8 to 18. The experience culminates on The Reser stage on April 24, 2026, with the Young Artists Debut! BLast year’s winners were Bharatanatyam dancer Shriya Marla, trombonist Elaina Stuppler (16), saxophonist Jacob Peizner, and pianists Ciel Kim, Samuel Lipke, and Sean Kim. The winning ensemble featured taiko performers Karen Craig, Jin Nakajima, and Calvin Stuczynski who performed works by Yumi Torimaru. Our first winners, highlighted at the Visual Artists Gallery, were Zorro-winner Chloe Lin, Evelyn Kirtley Filipo, Hazel Nhem, and Miriam Willey.  This year’s YAD! is even more exciting as we have expanded the age range of applicants and performers will have the opportunity to perform with musicians from Orchestra Nova Northwest, along with other incredible opportunities to grow as artists. uy tickets now to be in the audience for this memory-making moment, and learn more and apply at cognizart.org.

Founded in 1993, Cognizart is a progressive 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts education organization. In September 2025, Cognizart merged with Orchestra Nova Northwest to expand opportunities for young artists in the Portland-metro area. novanw.org
