Multigenerational songwriting workshop. This one-of-a-kind workshop combines the wisdom of lived experience with the energy and creativity of youth to create songs. It is designed for grandparents and their grandchildren to learn the basics of songwriting and will culminate with a recording of the song they have written together. Our facilitators will provide support and structure so that anyone, regardless of musical ability, can fully participate.

Saturdays: 1:00pm – 2:00pm

Instructor: Natalia Uribe

Individual Classes are $25 / $20 for Seniors. 62+

*A signed waiver is required to attend classes.

Participants are welcome to bring are:

– instruments
– laptop (if they have music software especially)
– notebooks, pen, anything to take notes

Limited musical instruments will be provided and there will be some opportunities to use music-making software in the event a participant doesn’t have any of the above.

This class is an introduction to songwriting from the perspective of music therapy. Since the class is short, the finished product will not be a full professional recording, but rather the culmination of a process of connection, creativity and openness.
