Echoes of Life

Date June 20-21, 2026 Pricing $33.50

An evening of contrast, beauty, and reflection, Echoes of Life brings together the brilliance of classical ballet and the searching voice of contemporary creation.
The program opens with Paquita (Act III), a dazzling celebration of classical ballet technique and virtuosity. Rooted in the grand tradition of 19th-century ballet, this iconic work showcases precision, elegance, and the radiant unity of the ensemble, embodying the enduring spirit and discipline of classical Ballet.

In contrast, Ye Li’s new contemporary Ballet work Can You See? offers an introspective and deeply human exploration of light—not only as a physical presence, but as a metaphor for awareness, compassion, and our shared humanity. The work traces both an inner and collective journey, searching for meaning, identity, and the quiet moments that define what it is to be human.

At its core lies a simple yet profound question: can we truly see one another? Through evolving movement and shifting relationships, the piece reflects the fragile yet powerful connections that bind us. It invites us to pause, to look closer, and to recognise the unseen impact of our actions—how even the smallest gesture of kindness can illuminate another’s life.

Together, these two works form a dialogue between past and present, form and feeling, clarity and ambiguity. Echoes of Life celebrates not only the evolution of ballet, but also the shared human experience—where tradition meets transformation, where connection takes shape, and where every movement leaves a lasting echo.
