Listening to ‘Old Spirits’ is a Cherokee tradition, one that artist Joe Cantrell takes to heart each time he explores the land. Witnessing figures of ancient pictographs in Utah one day, the rocks shared messages beyond the view of the naked eye. Exploring rocks and agates through a microscopic lens, Cantrell revisits these rocks through stacked focus photography and shares the quiet messages of places he’s been invited into. Come learn about his process and view the fascinating and otherworldly details of the thrill they reveal.
