New Years in Old Vienna

Date December 30, 2023 7:30pm Pricing $19 – $54

Party with the Portland Chamber Orchestra like it’s 1899! We celebrate the end of the year, Viennese style, with an evening filled with dancing, music, and merriment as conductor Nicholas Fox leads the orchestra through a program of waltzes, polkas, and arias straight out of the world’s musical capital.

The evening begins with a waltzing lesson in the lobby provided by Dance With Joy Studios at 6:30 pm. Following is dancing to live music, where you can show off your new skills at 7:00 pm. Then grab a glass of champagne before heading into the concert hall at 7:30 for a fun-filled program of Strauss, Lehar, and Mozart as the PCO, led by guest conductor Nicholas Fox, takes you through a tour of the music from the Hapsburg era.

Puerto Rican soprano, Camille Ortiz has captivated audiences with her versatility and enjoys international acclaim. She will accompany the PCO orchestra in Vienna’s most beloved operatic and concert arias.

So wear your finest 19th-century-style evening gown and three-piece suit, or come as you are and let the magic of this occasion be the perfect bookend to your 2023. Corsets optional!
