‘Ori Nui I Portland

‘Ori Nui I Portland will be the first event of its kind in Oregon—a competition and workshop series focused on ‘Ori Tahiti (Tahitian dance). This event will be open to local, national, and international groups, offering them a platform to showcase their group performances and soloist dancers in the form of a competition. Let the live Tahitian drumming and athleticism of ‘ori Tahiti dancers from around the world take you to a place that celebrates the ancestral dance traditions of Polynesia. ‘Ori Nui I Portland is proudly hosted by Teva Oriata in affiliation with ‘Ori Nui San Francisco and in partnership with Hirohiti Tematahota from Papeete, Tahiti. Our goal is to enrich the artistic landscape of the ‘Ori Tahiti community, fostering connections, and ensuring the continuation of Tahitian culture in the Northwest.
