Red Thread: Green Earth – Artist Talk & Film Screening | Wednesday, November 30^th | 6:30 pm

Calling on the spirit of their muse, creatives Midnite, Intisar, Median, Dr. Wood Chopper, Ni, and Amenta Yawa Abioto share behind-the-scenes details of their individual works. From Mississippi, Tennessee, and Louisiana to South Africa and Mali, the spirt of travel and civil rights advocacy has formed the foundation of their overarching belief in fantasy as a component of the natural world. Screening “Sight,” by Dr. Wood Chopper, a fictional work about the psychic powers of the earth, guests will participate in water/herbal tea/spirit rituals as the discussion unfolds. References and gifts from the earth, the works celebrate the presence of fantasy in ecology.
