Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty is a beautiful ballet about the power of love, dreams, and exploration, which has been delighting audiences on the world’s stages for more than 100 years. The three-act ballet extravaganza is based on Charles Perrault’s fairy tale of the same name.

All of the finest elements were thought of in this production down to the smallest detail, from the general atmosphere of the French court of King Louis XIV to the enchanting music and exquisite classical choreography. The ballet is full of a variety of dances, variations of soloists, sensual duets, and spectacular scenes with the corps de ballet. A special treat is given by the amazing, colorful dances of the fairies: The Lilac Fairy and fairies of Tenderness, Liveliness, Generosity, Courage, and Serenity, who, according to the storyline, endow the newborn girl with their gifts. This performance became a serious event in the history of musical and choreographic art in the end of the 19th century. Since then, the classical ballet has been a treasure in the repertoire of almost all major theaters of the world.
