The Spectacular: Rick Steves’ Europe: A Symphonic Journey

Rick Steves, America’s leading authority on European travel, joins ONN via the Silver Screen for a dramatic musical journey, a journey that begins in the United States and touches down in eight European countries. Rick Steves’ Europe: A Symphonic Journey is a unique program that celebrates music’s power to stir the patriotic soul. The orchestra performs a selection of stirring 19th-century anthems by Romantic-era composers. The pieces each feature a different nationality, while the finale, Beethoven’s Ode to Joy (Europe’s official anthem), pays homage to the continent’s motto of “United in Diversity.”
