The Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, in partnership with Beaverton Arts Market, is pleased to announce a call to artists for its fourth annual exhibition and sale. The Curio invites visual artists in Oregon and Washington to apply for consideration of original works of art, small gifts, and artist reproductions. Artists must have a strong body of work, demonstrate superior craftsmanship, and have a considerable inventory with multiple pieces available for sale. NOTE: We will not be featuring holiday-specific items in this exhibition.

Application Deadline: Friday, June 26, 2026 before 11:59 pm Pacific Time.

Allow for ample time to prepare applications as late submissions will not be accepted. Applying does not guarantee participation in this opportunity. A selection process will follow, and artists will be notified by mid-August.

Application Bootcamp: The Reser Gallery staff will hold two application info sessions over Zoom on Friday, May 15 at 3:00 pm (register here) and Wednesday, May 27 at 6:00 pm (register here). The info sessions will be recorded, and a link will be posted on the gallery website for those unable to attend either session. If you have attended this Bootcamp in previous years, it is not necessary to attend again.

To be equitable to all artists, please do NOT call the gallery, or come by with artwork for consideration.

Eligibility:

• • Artists must reside in Oregon or Washington.
• • All work must be original and created by the artist.
• • All artwork must be for sale.
• • Artwork must have been made in the last 2 years.
• • Artwork submissions by students and youth are encouraged!
• • Artists who participated in previous exhibitions such as Small Wonders and The Curio 2024-2025 are eligible to apply but may not submit the same work that was shown in previous exhibitions.

Acceptable Media:

• • 2D: Painting, Drawing, Encaustic, Printmaking, Photography, Prints, and Mixed Media
• • 3D: Functional/Tableware – Ceramic, Glass, Wood, Metal, Handmade Books, Textiles
• • 3D: Sculptural – Ceramic, Glass, Wood, Metal, and Mixed Media
• • Wearable Art – Jewelry, Soft Sculpture, and Mixed Media
• • Stationery: Cards, Gift Sets of Prints, Handmade Papers and Books, Paperwork, and Photo Cards.
• • If your work does not fall within one of the following categories it may still be acceptable for the show. Simply send an email to gallery@thereser.org and attach 1 -2 images of the proposed style of work.

Submission Guidelines:

• • Artists must submit their application through Artwork Archive by Friday, June 26, before 11:59 pm PST. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
• • Create a FREE Call Submission Account through Artwork Archive PRIOR to submitting an application.

• • Artists may submit up to 5 works in total that demonstrate individual artistic style and chosen media.
  • • The Reser acknowledges that submitted works are a representation of an artist’s craftsmanship, artistic merits, creativity, and selling history, and may not be the exact artwork selected for the sale.
  • • Once an artist is selected for The Curio, they will upload their current selection of inventory to Artwork Archive. The curator will conduct a virtual studio visit to select the final works to be featured.
  • • We encourage artists to present a wide range of works for consideration, focusing on pieces that are in the $100 – $500 range. Most works should be no larger than 24 x 24” in any one direction. The Curator may select works outside the size and price ranges listed above, and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • • Once selected, artists enter into a contractual agreement to hold their selected inventory for sale from September – January.
• • Image file names must contain the artists’ first and last names and the artwork title.
  • • Example: Your Name_Artwork Title
• • Artists must enter artwork details for each submitted work. This list will include: artwork title, media, dimensions, year, and price.
  • • 2-D artworks must not exceed 24” x 24” in size, including frame and matting.
  • • 3-D artworks must not exceed 24” x 24” x 24” in size.
• • Artists must include a short artist statement (500 words max), a bio (250 words max) and a high-res headshot.

Application Fee: The Reser requires an application fee of $35 to cover administrative and juror costs.

A limited number of scholarships are available on a needs basis. Contact gallery@thereser.org if interested. If selected, a 30% commission will be taken on all sales occurring throughout this exhibition. Artists should factor prices accordingly. If a future commission is requested while works are on display, The Reser will facilitate negotiations with the artist and patron and take a 30% commission off the sale of the commissioned work.

• • Artists Notified: By or before August 15, 2026 – All accepted and declined artists will be notified via email. Please do not call or write to inquire about status.
• • Artwork Delivery: Tuesday, October 13 & Wednesday, October 14, 2026 from 9 am – 7 pm
• • Exhibition Opens & Artist Reception: Friday, November 6, 2026 | 6 – 9 pm
• • Exhibition Closes: Sunday, January 10, 2027
• • Unsold Artwork Pick-up: Monday, January 11 & Tuesday, January 12, 2027 from 10 am – 6 pm
