Happy Anniversary, Patricia Reser Center for the Arts!

    Dear Friends,

One year ago today, the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts opened to the public. At the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, our generous and visionary philanthropist Pat Reser held up a bedazzled shovel and scissors signifying the journey from groundbreaking to the opening in less than two years. A few days later, on International Women’s Day, Nobuntu took the stage for the first time in a joyful and electrifying sold-out performance. The spark was lit and the cultural landscape of the west side was changed forever.

Since that day, The Reser has become a gathering place for our community and region. It is a destination for people near and far, offering hope and healing during uncertain times. Artist and activist Midnite Abioto, introducing her family’s art exhibit last fall said it best, “We are not artists. We are spiritual healers.”

In the past year, we have welcomed more than 52,000 visitors through the doors of the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts. They have attended free art gallery exhibits, meetings, classes, and 178 performances featuring a diverse range of award-winning artists, local community members, and nonprofit organizations.

We set out to inspire by bringing the world to our stage, and by showcasing regional artists and organizations. That vision has become a reality. In turn, we have been energized by the outpouring of love and the warm embrace we have received in Beaverton and the west side. As we look to the year ahead, we will invest in more educational programming, bring you more exciting performances and art exhibits, and work towards becoming a more welcoming, inclusive organization. The Reser is the family room of our region, and we are committed to making sure it represents everyone in our beautifully diverse area.

We are here because of you. We are here to serve you. If you believe in the magnificence of the Arts to create a brighter future for all of us, please join us.

Thank you to our community, neighbors, volunteers, and supporters.

    With appreciation,
