Congratulations to Joan Corcoran for receiving the Distinguished Volunteer Award at the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce Mover of Mountains Gala on Friday, May 17! Joan shared her volunteer experiences over the past few years and expressed her love of The Reser and the Gallery in her acceptance speech. Joan took a few minutes to advocate for our programs and encouraged many to get involved and join The Reser volunteer teams. We couldn’t be happier for her!
The Distinguished Volunteer Award recognizes volunteers dedicated to benefiting Beaverton and who have made a positive impact on the well-being and quality of life in the community. Joan has been a champion for The Reser since day one. Initially, she worked as a Front of House volunteer. Even though she stated she did not have galley experience, Joan jumped in to learn about our programs and has been instrumental in helping install exhibitions and assists with numerous administrative duties ever since. She is an ambassador for all volunteers and brings the ‘can do’ attitude to share with all. Joan has spent countless hours assisting the gallery team to present world-class exhibitions and has truly become a part of The Reser family.
Joan is excited to be assisting the gallery team with events, activities, upcoming exhibitions, and programming for our 2025 season. She has even begun working with local groups to facilitate Reser art tours. We appreciate all that Joan contributes to our programs and encourage you to congratulate Joan when you see her at an upcoming Reser engagement!
